Climate change awareness and Environmental Conservation

The earth is essential to all of us. It creates food, and clean drinking water provides “services” like protecting us from solar rays and also provides us a stable temperature in which we can grow crops – not to mention it’s the only planet we have. And yet, even though thinking about environmental degradation, climate change due to pollution, and human activities that threaten our environment might seem daunting, there are ways – through a number of different actions – that all of us can help lessen their effects on our world.

When we talk about environmental conservation, the first thing that comes to mind might not be human activities, but they actually account for the lion’s share of the destruction of our environment. Pollution and excessive carbon emissions are the top two ways that humans have polluted our environment and contributed to climate change. Nothing we do in our everyday lives will be more important for the future of our world than making the decision to make changes and become contributing members of society. It’s easy – there are simple actions any person can do their part to slow down the rate at which our environment is deteriorating.

One way that you can start? Turn off your computer when it’s not in use, and set it up to turn off automatically whenever possible. Choose a smaller print setting and avoid printing documents unless you have a real need to do so and power down as much as possible before putting electronics into hibernation mode or turning them off altogether. It is estimated that even 2 minutes online creates 4 pounds of carbon emissions, so take care with your own electricity usage. These small steps taken by humans can help save energy and in turn, helps in environmental conservation.

There is no denying that our planet is going through some major changes and it is largely due to human activity. Global warming is the biggest culprit, as it is responsible for the rise in average temperatures around the world. This has had a huge impact on the environment, as we are seeing more extreme weather conditions, melting polar ice caps, and rising sea levels. We must all do our part to raise awareness about climate change and what we can do to help conserve our planet.

India ranks 10th in the climate change performance index 2021. In India, the government is taking various initiatives to combat climate change and tackle environmental degradation. The government is taking serious steps to educate people about the protection of the environment, forest conservation, reducing pollution, etc. Also, renewable resources are preferred to non-renewable resources these days. There are various Acts like the Forest Conservation Act 1980 and Wildlife Protection Act 1972 that are strictly enforced in the country to save flora and fauna. Also, our country is focusing on replacing electricity with solar energy these days. These small steps are critical to saving our environment.

Climate change is one of the most pressing issues of our time. The Earth is getting warmer, and this is causing all sorts of problems. Global warming is melting the ice caps, rising sea levels, and making the world a more dangerous place. We need to be aware of the problem and do what we can to conserve our environment. Our small efforts and actions may give our future generation a happier place to live.
